About San Marcos: San Marcos in western Honduras is a cooperative strictly high grown coffee at an average elevation of 1400m. The coffee is cultivated by a multitude of small independent farmers who contribute coffee to the wet mill and hand-sorted to remove any defects.

The Rainforest Alliance (RFA) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) working to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, address deforestation, climate change, systemic poverty, and social inequity. Third-party studies have shown the organization’s approach to be effective in raising both income and net revenue for farmers.
